St Peter’s Primary School has an active PTA who work hard to raise money for school projects and to provide social events for both parents and children. In the last couple of years the PTA has provided funding for items such as interactive whiteboards, IT equipment, new lighting and staging for the hall and the outside staging.
Want to get involved?
The PTA has a committee which is supported by many helpers who organise events and fund raising activities. As a result of the impacts of COVID-19 this last academic year we need, more than ever, new volunteers to join us and support our activities, the school and our children. If you would like to become involved or feel you could help in some way let the school office know and they will put you in touch with a committee member.
Our usual meetings are held in a very informal and friendly environment. They usually involve a free drink and a laugh as well as lots of good discussion about our upcoming events and plans.
This coming academic year we are on the look out for a new chairperson. This is an important role and without someone in place there is no PTA due to legal requirements. That said, the role of the chair isn’t scary. We have a good knowledge base for all our events and leaders for each of the main ones. In other words, it truly is a team effort.
Our next AGM will be held in September and full details will be provided via the school communications and our Facebook page. We urge everyone to come along, hear what we’ve been up to and what our plans are for 2021. And if you fancy a fancy job title the AGM is the place to put yourself forward for our Committee positions!
