During the topic of ‘Ourselves’, the children draw their journey to school. Each child describes landmarks they pass and discuss how they can record each one.
In Geography the children compare and contrast their local area with various localities from around the world. As part of our ‘Ice’ topic we used atlases and websites to find out about Antarctica and the Artctic and how humans have impacted on the environment.
Weather data is collected about Borneo as a rainforest area and compared with the conditions in Henfield.
The children in Year 4 look closely at their surroundings. The village of Henfield is a focus of their studies and many geographical observations are made.
In Year 5 the children look closely at the water cycle and the impact it has on the surrounding area.
Year 6 have followed the course of the river Adur from where it starts in the rocky mountains at its source to where it meets the sea.
